This frame Victorian-style house was built in 1899. Originally, it was a three-room
house with high beaded board walls and ceiling and beautiful pine floors. In time,
other additions to the house were made including a kitchen, master bedroom and
back porch. More recently modern conveniences have been added for comfort. The
kitchen is fully furnished for you to use. Also, there are two complete baths,
one having an antique footed tub and the other a shower. The home is beautifully
decorated with sophistication and comfort.
Decorated in wonderful antiques and magnificent colors, the house is wonderful
for couples traveling together or simply a romantic haven. The living room offers
an antique sofa boasting an array of pillows. A high back chair is combined
with the sofa and both are placed to enjoy the television and VCR in the armoire.
Adjacent to the living room is the dining room with its boldly painted walls,
wonderful wood floors and elegant accents. A stylish table is set for guests
to use or simply admire.
The master bedroom has a king size canopied wrought iron bed. Decorated with
a stylish gold colored comforter and skirt, the bed is then topped with elegant
pillows and framed with the same gold fabric. This room is impressive with it’s
creativity in the wall border and large rug used to enhance the bed. A French
dresser and mirror is found on one wall and a comfortable chair on the other.
A second bedroom located in the front of the house offers a queen-size white
iron bed topped with a comforter using blue accents to highlight the soft yellow
walls. The living room and dining room separate the two bedrooms. Behind the
fully equipped kitchen is an inviting sun porch. The colorful sofa (daybed)
is accented by a white wicker table, chairs and rocker……plus a little
garden cabinet complete with a birdhouse checkerboard. This wonderful room is
perfect for enjoying the outdoors.
Every detail of this home confirms the love and care that went into the decorating.
There is a backyard patio outside the sun porch, which is covered with majestic
shade trees. The house is located within two blocks of Main Street in the Historic
District.
