Located beside the Becker Vineyards winery is the original homestead log cabin
of the Heinrick Peese Family. Heinrick built the cabin in 1890 after buying 130
acres of land from his brother Wilhelm who immigrated to Fredericksburg in 1880.
The small log cabin has been renovated and is currently being used as a guesthouse.
Placed within view of the winery, the cabin is rustic and accented with a wonderful
collection of Texas and early American period antiques. The living room has
a charming wooden couch and a potbelly stove (for decoration only). A snug,
four poster queen-size bed is in the loft, which is authentically renovated
with the low “a-line” ceiling. Just outside the bedroom is an outside
stairway. A bathroom with a tub and shower is found downstairs. The kitchen
is located off of the living room.
Relax on the front porch of the cabin, enjoy the outside barbecue, take pleasure
in the countryside views or feel free to hike on the property. While staying
a The Homestead take advantage of a tour of the winery or sit on the winery
porch during the spring and summer, or by the winery hearth of an open fire
during the winter.
